Wishful Thinking

150 Old School Way (PO Box 573) Nashville, IN 47448  |  (812) 988-7009

Welcome Back to Brown County!

We have been so happy to see so many of you in the shop this past couple of months! We're glad you're staying safe, wearing your masks, and watching out for each other. We continue to cautiously step into this unusual and strange world we've been thrown into by adapting the way we do so many things!

I was ready to post our summer newsletter earlier in July, having come up with some ideas on how to safely hold a few classes. As I finalized the details and jotted them down in the newsletter draft, I started to hear some disheartening news: the number of virus cases in Indiana has been going up. I decided to wait a week or so and see if things improved. Since they are unfortunately not, I am going to suspend classes a little longer.

That being said, I am happy that we're now open every day, from 10 am - 5 pm! Read on to see what we're doing to help keep you safe while you're in the shop, as well as all the new goodies we have been finding for all of us!

What Wishful Thinking is Doing During This Pandemic:

While we are very excited to open our doors again, we are very much aware that we will need to adapt to the every-changing news about this virus. One thing that will not change is our promise to you to keep you as safe as we can. To do that:

  • We will continue to regularly sanitize doorknobs, counters, credit card machine, shopping baskets, etc.
  • Weather permitting, we'll have at least one door open so you won't have to touch a doorknob.
  • When traffic in Nashville gets heavier, we plan to keep the west side door locked to help control the number of people in the shop. You'll be able to come in the east side door (across from the parking lot) and the south side door (the porch entrance).
  • We may have to limit the number of shoppers in the store, so please be patient.
  • We ask that you wear a mask and practicing social distancing as best you can.
  • We know it's hard, but while in the shop, please shop with your eyes and pick up and touch only what you intend to purchase. Ask for help!
  • Curbside pickup and mail orders are always available!

We know that many people may not feel comfortable entering any shops at this time and we certainly understand that! Please know that we will continue taking online and phone-in-orders for curbside pickup and mail-in orders! You can email us at or call us at (812) 988-7009.

Here Are Some Fun Ways to Shop at Wishful Thinking!

At this time we do not have an online shop, but here's what we're doing for you to help keep you crafting!

  • Call us directly and tell us what you're looking for. We'll happily let you know what we've got in stock (we'll even take photos and email you images!).
  • Join our email list! You can register on our website, call us, email us, or fill out our registration form in the shop. We'll keep you posted on the latest products, news, updates, events, etc.
  • You can stay connected with our crafting community on our Facebook page! We have started showcasing some of our merchandise on our page (Wishful Thinking - Scrapbooking & Rubber Art Stamps). Call or email us and we'll package up whatever you need.
  • And, of course, the most fun way to shop is to personally visit us when our doors are open! You never know what treasures you'll find as you browse our shelves!

New Stuff at Wishful Thinking...

One of my favorite jobs at the shop is looking for new stuff for us to add to our craft rooms (you'll note that I'm including me in this!). And boy have I been busy ordering new goodies for all of us! Everyone's crafting during these challenging stay-at-home times so we're here to keep you well-stocked! Here's a peek at what you'll find when you stop in:

  • We've got some new cling rubber stamp sets from Stamper's Anonymous! The very popular Stitches, as well as Faded Type, Mini Glitch, and Ornate Trims to name a few!
  • We found the cutest papers from Dare 2B Artsy! The collection is called "All the Buzz" and features adorable bees, beehives, and flowers on bright yellow, mint green, pink, and navy blue papers. Don't forget the matching stamp and die sets!
  • Penny Black has sent us some gorgeous new samples using their new summer stamps and dies! I love the way they've used their die called "Framed". Stop in and check them all out!
  • Are you familiar with a company called Craft Consortium? If not, you'll have to take a look at their absolutely gorgeous papers, charms, washi tapes, and stamps! We've got some of their 12 x 12 and 6x6 papers pad collections: "The Riverbank," "Tell the Bees," "The Emporium," "Wildflower," and "The Herbarium."
  • Graphic 45 has the prettiest scrapbook papers, which we all love! But, have you seen their dies and stamps? There's a beautiful clear floral stamp set with one bold background and one delicate one. And their dies will help you make pretty policy envelopes, tags, and pockets!
  • Since this newsletter is coming out later than normal, we'd like to thank everyone who participated in the Stampendous Virtual Catalog Party at the end of July! We enjoyed a week of fabulous and very educational videos from Fran using lots of their new goodies. My heads spinning with all the ideas and tips! If you missed it, check out our Facebook page to find all the links to Bran's videos. And, if you don't want to miss out on any future event, make sure you're added to our e-mail list and/or like us on Facebook! ...Hint, hint, there will be more!
  • KaiserCraft's new baby collection is so sweet! It's called "Little Treasures." And, we've restocked their beautiful lavender collection called "Amethyst" - very rarely do we re-order a paper collection! Visit our Facebook page and look under Photos / Albums to see their Amethyst collection.
  • It may be 90+ degrees outside and humid, humid, humid, but we've been thinking Fall, Halloween, and Christmas! Several of our vendors are giving us sneak peeks of their new holiday papers, stamps, and dies. Some are already shipping - We've got PhotoPlay's new "Gnome for Xmas" on the floor already. We'll keep you posted via email and on our Facebook page as more of your new treasures arrive!
  • We've also gotten in some brand new sports papers from Reminisce, in kits as well as individual sheets and stickers!
  • And, now for something completely different...we're now selling JIGSAW PUZZLES - 500 or 1000 piece puzzles to keep you and your family occupied safely at home! During our shutdown, my family and I have put together several challenging puzzles (we just started our second 2000 piece one!). It's so rewarding to complete a puzzle, plus it's a great activity you can do as a family!

A Review: 2020 February Crafting Retreat in Nashville, IN!

We hosted our 5th Annual Crafting Retreat right here in Nashville this past February! The Brown County Inn was our host hotel, where we had plenty of space available for working on our projects and attending classes. Thanks to all who attended; we had such fun! If you missed it, don't fret - we're going to do this again! We'll keep you posted on our Website and Facebook page for future dates (hint, more than likely in February 2021!)

Store Hours:

We are now open every day! You can hang out with us from 10 am - 5 PM every day!

Of course, this is subject to change. We will keep you posted of any changes through our emails, our website and our Facebook page. And our old-fashioned answering machine when you call the shop! We also have our hours posted on all three of our doors.

Heirloom Production's 16th Annual Indianapolis Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Festival has been RESCHEDULED: August 21 & 22!

Yay! As many of you are aware, Heirloom Productions made the right decision to cancel the show originally scheduled March 20 & 21 because of the coronavirus. Happily, they have rescheduled it for August 21 & 22! As of now, it's still a go!

This will be a great opportunity to schmooze with rubber stamp and paper crafting vendors! Many of them will be hosting make 'n takes, so you can learn new techniques right there.

The show will be held at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds on 1900 East Main Street in Danville, IN (I believe there is FREE parking). The show will be held Friday (21st) and Saturday (22nd) - no show on Sunday. You can find more details at Heirloom Production's website,

So, where do you get tickets for this exciting event? At Wishful Thinking! We are selling tickets at the store, or you can call us at 812-988-7009 and we'll mail them out to you. Pre-sold tickets are $6 each and good for both days ($8/day at the door).

*** If you already have tickets for the March show, they are still good and they will honor them! ***

Wishful Thinking's Annual Used Stamp Sale - CANCELLED for 2020

After much thought, we have decided that this is probably not a good time to hold our Annual Used Stamp Sale. Therefore, with a heavy sigh, we are announcing the cancellation of this event for this year. We do, however, plan on holding this Sale in July, 2021! So keep gathering up those used and no-longer wanted scrapbooking and stamping supplies and put them aside for next year!

Watch our emails, website and Facebook page - we'll post about the exact dates sometime in the early spring.
